Governance Innovators for Action

The Hub is a space for governance innovators to explore solutions to governance challenges around the world.

We offer governance innovators a platform to connect in helping others solve problems they face in the pursuit of better governance and better results – whether it’s enhancing local development, tackling corruption, or advancing climate action.

Join us and be part of this network! Together, we want to channel the commitment to positive social change of innovators out there, connecting, promoting, and learning from them and other coalitions pursuing better governance.

What do we mean by Governance Innovators?

There are many bold change agents who are out there agitating, creating, and leading1 transformation in their communities and beyond. We believe it is important to learn from one another and embrace creative approaches being used to:

  • Enhance Local Development through solutions that bring new voices to the table, improve services like health and education, and build more
  • Support Climate Action and the people and communities working toward climate resilience and sustainable energy transitions.
  • Reduce Opportunities for Corruption and drive strategies that fight state capture, boost transparency, and strengthen citizen involvement in governance.
  • Renew Democracy and harness new ideas that promote democracy, reform institutions, and create systems that are participatory, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse voices.

In this way, we see governance innovation as a creative process and an effort to make governance reform happen, not one solely focused on new technologies or tech-based approaches.

Why do we need Governance Innovators?

Around the world, democratic governance is being questioned or challenged, trust in institutions and systems is eroding, corruption and misinformation are on the rise. At the same time, we face increasingly complex challenges like pandemics, climate change, and growing inequality – issues that demand coordinated, systemic responses. We believe innovation is essential to building systems that are transparent, accountable, and inclusive. In addition, a strong or successful innovation ecosystem provides ‘the ability to mobilize actors, assets and relationships to provide a supportive enabling environment for innovation and social entrepreneurship to flourish.’ Read more

We will be working with governance innovators to amplify the impact of change agents, build connections, learn from diverse strategies, and support scalable solutions.
