Sandra Ramzy
As a (former) Early Warning Researcher at the Al Habtoor Research Center, an Egypt-based think tank, Sandra Ramzy’s research focused on global action policies with an emphasis on identifying gaps in the climate action agenda and understanding power dynamics in the context of climate change and bringing this to the attention of policymakers. Her work involved collaborating with academia to bridge the gap between scholarly research and policy-making while advocating for increased public awareness.
Sandra highlights the influence of global policies, such as those discussed at COP 28, on local issues and emphasized the need for a more systemic approach to addressing the global climate action agenda, particularly regarding the green transition and its impact on developing countries. She also emphasized the importance of structured networks and collaboration in addressing challenges related to climate financing and the need to engage all stakeholders within the available scope.
Sandra calls for less exploitative practices and calls attention to the contradiction between the actions of international development organizations and their stated goals.
