The Governance Explorers’ Network

You’re not alone in believing that governance can be done differently. Connect with like-minded changemakers, and let’s create solutions together.

At the Governance Action Hub, we aim to strengthen and amplify global efforts towards systems change by promoting collaboration among people committed to making a difference.

However, most of us, throughout our governance-related work, rarely have the opportunity to explore. The incentives of our work are typically structured around the application of technical fixes that focus on one dimension of the problem, rather than examining the system in which the problem is embedded and how to coordinate action across it. Enter the Governance Explorers’ Network.

We propose this as a brave space to co-create and find solutions. We are just showing the potential. What happens next, and how far it goes, depends on you. Over time, members of the network will be able to use this space and the tools we provide—adapted from work done by R4D and many of our partners—to build partnerships, collaborate, and be part of the solution, regardless of your day job.

What will we be doing under the Governance Explorers’ Network?

The Governance Explorers’ Network is set up as a platform to experiment with new ways of bringing people together from diverse perspectives to discuss how to tackle a shared challenge and engage people in the solution of concrete challenges. Some examples this could take shape for different cohorts under the network include:

  • Online polls to identify governance challenges and gather perspectives from across the network.
  • Podcast episodes that connect local and global perspectives on governance issues.
  • Co-creation sessions, where you can contribute ideas to support local stakeholders in the countries where we work through our Local Coalitions for Local Solutions exploration.

Together, we can build a network to bring governance closer to people. We’re here to help.

We are thrilled you’re here and considering joining this growing network! At the Governance Action Hub, we aspire to bring the discussion of governance action and reform closer to people—exploring what is possible through collaboration and local-global coordination. We plan to launch our first network activities in early 2025.

By filling out a quick registration form, you will help us to prioritize our activities and connect members around shared themes, ideas, or interests. You will also:

  1. Receive our newsletter—packed with updates and ideas you’ll love!
  2. Be the first to hear about events and invitations from the Governance Action Hub.
  3. Participate in the crowdsourcing of ideas and efforts to address the most pressing governance challenges of our time.

We are a small but mighty team. Yet, we cannot do this without you and other governance changemakers all over the world.

Calling all the Explorers: initial cohorts to explore.

During the course of 2025 we will have calls for explorers. They will focus on our strategic themes, with the climate justice call released in March 2025. Other calls will include innovation and state capture.
