Mmabatho Boitshepo Oke

Mmabatho Boitshepo Oke is a knowledge management & advocacy specialist who works at the intersection of digital governance, gender equality and economic justice. Over 12 years, Mmabatho has a proven track record of turning complex policy and research into insightful action. She has worked with various INGO’s, governments and is an expert in building cross-functional collaborations and leading advocacy initiatives in global platforms.  Her leadership spans board roles, including the Aidsfonds supervisory board, several youth and tech-focused institutions, and is complemented by recognitions such as the AFR100 Youth Ambassador and in MIPAD 100 as the Most Influential Person of African Descent (2020) and an Anzisha media finalist (2016). Mmabatho is also a Mandela Washington Fellowship alumnus and a Bosch alumnus. Currently, Mmabatho is the Lead Facilitator for the Gender Standing Group at the Internet Society. 
Bio

Mmabatho B. Oke is a knowledge management and advocacy specialist who has built a portfolio career at the intersection of digital governance and social justice. Over 12 years, she has  progressively led complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from coalition coordination to UN-level research. Previously as an ITU Generation Connect board member, she engaged directly on digital rights and inclusion, and directed global strategy across 30+ country offices as a knowledge management and communications lead at CARE. Mmabatho has shaped national policy, co-authored UN research, and influenced digital rights advocacy across Africa and globally. Mmabatho brings governance expertise, strategic foresight, and international networks to advance technology in the public interest.
