In a conversation with the Governance Action Hub team in Colombia, Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI)’s Sustainable Energy Senior Officer, Juan Fernando Higuita spoke about how people in Colombia can become partners in local energy transition projects. He emphasized the importance of understanding the day-to-day challenges faced by the country’s energy communities on the road towards socio-economic benefits through energy programs and job creation.

GGGI is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies.

In Colombia, GGGI plays the role of a trusted advisor to the Colombian government to help facilitate the achievement of the renewed NDC commitment (the Green Growth Policy and the Deforestation Control Policy) which has a target set at 51% greenhouse gas emissions reductions by 2030.
