Jai Asundi
Jai Asundi is the Executive Director of the Center for Study of Science, Technology, and Policy (CSTEP), an independent think-tank based in Bangalore, India, with a mission to enrich policymaking with innovative approaches.
At CSTEP, Jai led the establishment of “AI for Social Impact as a sector of work” and the creation of the Centre for Air Pollution Studies (CAPS). His broader research interests lie in decision-making and the development of decision-support systems for diverse public policy problems.
In a recent conversation with the Governance Action Hub, Jai emphasized the importance of considering the impact of climate change on different communities, as well as how to effectively communicate these issues to local authorities. He also highlighted the need to reduce disparities between socioeconomic groups in adapting to climate change. He advocates for inclusive governance practices that engage all stakeholders and promote long-term, sustainable solutions.
Jai believes “the best solution today is to produce good governance practices or processes by which you include all the participants – make sure nobody is left behind and they are part of the solution or even the problem formulation process.”
