Our Work in the Philippines

We are currently conducting a political economy and stakeholder analysis in the Philippines to inform future initiatives.

The Governance Action Hub is shaping its strategy in the Philippines to tackle critical governance challenges. Using evidence and co-creation tools, we aim to identify key intervention points where we can directly support and drive sustainable change.

In late 2023, the team conducted a scoping trip to engage with key actors and potential addressing governance issues. Since then, we’ve been developing a systems-wide plan that focuses on strengthening accountability ecosystems, reforming mining laws and licensing, addressing environmental challenges in mining regions, and pursuing broader energy sector reforms.

Our approach seeks to identify both macro-level interventions, such as key legislative reforms, and micro-level actions that empower civil society at the community level, fostering change from the ground up.
