The Opportunity of Critical Minerals in the Era of Energy Transition

On September 27, 2023, Dr. Mario Picón, Director of the Governance Action Hub at Results for Development, gave a keynote presentation titled ‘La transición energética, la minería del futuro y la importancia de la colaboración para la sostenibilidad y la descarbonización’ (in English, ‘The energy transition, the mining of the future and the importance of collaboration for sustainability and decarbonization’) at PERUMIN, the second largest mining convention in the world, hosted in Arequipa, Peru.

In his speech, he argued that the mining industry must embrace the energy transition to remain competitive and sustainable through more robust collaboration models in the context of these efforts.
