Amanda Folsom

Amanda Folsom is the Collaborative Learning Advisor of the Governance Action Hub at R4D. She has over twenty years’ experience facilitating practitioner-to-practitioner action learning to improve the financing, delivery, organization and governance of health systems. Amanda has managed and facilitated over ten Collaborative Learning Networks (CLNs) under global and national platforms, including the Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator, the Joint Learning Network for Universal Health Coverage, the Primary Health Care Performance Initiative, the Linked Immunisation Action Network, and State Coverage Initiatives. She has developed numerous tools and resources on designing, facilitating, and measuring the impact of CLNs. Amanda has also led a health policy and systems research ecosystem-building initiative in Asia and health financing technical assistance programs in Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, and Nigeria.

Prior to joining R4D, Amanda led U.S. health policy and reform programs through AcademyHealth and Maryland Medicaid. She served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso.

When not working, Amanda likes to hang out with her husband and two teenagers, hike with her dog, travel, and relax in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
