Blog | The Governance Action Hub aims to convene and put local change agents in the driver’s seat to analyze local challenges, co-create solutions and take action collectively. In March 2024, our team traveled to Colombia — one of the countries where we are assessing if and how we can add value to existing local action to improve governance reform — to explore the potential for systems change in pursuit of a Just Energy Transition (JET), a complex issue.

Blog | A few weeks ago, the R4D-led Governance Action Hub hosted its official launch event. Since then, the team has been preparing for initial country-level engagements and designing a new knowledge portal. In this blog, we share key messages from the launch event including the relationship between climate change and state capture and how to strengthen and broaden coalitions for change when addressing persistent and emerging governance challenges. We are also calling for partners to explore what is possible in governance action and reform.

Blog | Editor’s note: In the inaugural blog of the Governance Action Hub, Director Mario G. Picon reflects on his experience in the governance and anticorruption space and what led to this new initiative. The Action Hub supports local stakeholders to pursue goals they deem important and to participate in solutions to the governance challenges they face. The Hub also aims to facilitate better coordination between local and global action, offering pathways to enhanced impact. Future Hub posts will feature collaborations with people and organizations working at both local and global levels in governance, anticorruption, and learning.
